The Greenville native is preparing to represent his school, the Upstate and his country on the world stage in June, as a member of Team USA at the 2024 Toyota World Cup in Tokyo, Japan.

TEAM THROUGH THE 2025 SEASON. A CHRISTCHURCH GOLFER HAS THE OPPORTUNITY OF A LIFETIME LATER THIS SUMMER AS HE GETS READY TO REPRESENT HIS COUNTRY ON THE WORLD STAGE. OUR CHASE JUSTICE HAS THE STORY FOR WILLIAM JENNINGS, A SENIOR AT CHRIST CHURCH EPISCOPAL SCHOOL. GOLF IS SOMETHING THAT HAS COME NATURAL. HE GOES ALL STATE. SEVENTH GRADE. I PLAYED A BUNCH OF LIKE, YOU KNOW, BIG INTERNATIONAL JUNIOR EVENTS, LIKE WHEN I WAS, YOU KNOW, 10 TO 12 AREA AND DID PRETTY WELL IN THOSE. SO I KNEW I, YOU KNOW, HAD A GOOD CHANCE OF DOING SOMETHING WITH IT. IT CAN BE A HUMBLING GAME, BUT IT’S ONE OF THE REASONS WHY JENNINGS GOT INVOLVED WITH THE SPORT AT SUCH A YOUNG AGE. I PROBABLY STARTED WHEN I WAS LIKE 8 OR 7. MY OLDER BROTHER REALLY GOT ME INTO IT. UM, I WANTED TO DO WHATEVER HE WAS GOING TO DO. THE GREENVILLE NATIVE AND ALABAMA COMMIT HAS SEEN HIS STOCK RISE ALL THE WAY TO THE TOP OF THE JUNIOR RANKINGS. REALLY COOL. YOU KNOW, I’VE BEEN PLAYING JUNIOR GOLF FOR THE LAST, YOU KNOW, FOREVER. SO, YOU KNOW, TO FINALLY REACH THE TOP OF THE RANKINGS WAS DEFINITELY, YOU KNOW, A BIG ACCOMPLISHMENT FOR ME AND IS PREPARING TO REPRESENT HIS SCHOOL, THE UPSTATE AND HIS COUNTRY ON THE WORLD STAGE. IN JUNE AS A PART OF TEAM USA AT THE 2024 TOYOTA WORLD CUP IN TOKYO, JAPAN. WHILE OUR BUDDIES TEXTED ME, HE’S LIKE, YOU WANT TO GO TO JAPAN? I WAS LIKE, YEAH, DEFINITELY. I MEAN, I’VE SAID IT GOT A LITTLE MORE DETAILS THAN THAT, BUT, UM, IT’S GONNA BE REALLY COOL. IT’S A GOOD EXPERIENCE THROUGH ALL THE TOURNAMENT WINS THIS UPSTATE STANDOUT WILL CONTINUE NAVIGATING HIS GOLF CAREER. ONE HOLE AT A TIME. YEAH, I MEAN, OBVIOUSLY I WANT TO BE ON THE PGA TOUR. YOU KNOW THAT’S THE END GOAL. YOU KNOW MAYBE BE NUMBER ONE IN THE WORLD THERE AT SOME POINT. UH, BUT YOU KNOW I’M JUST GOING TO KEEP TAKING STEP BY STEP COLLEGE GOLF SNACKS. The Greenville native is preparing to represent his school, the Upstate and his country on the world stage in June, as a member of Team USA at the 2024 Toyota World Cup in Tokyo, Japan.

For William Jennings, a senior at Christ Church Episcopal School, golf is something that has come naturally.“I think I was all-state in seventh grade. I played a bunch of, like, big international junior events when I was 10-12 area and did pretty well in those, so I knew I had a good chance of doing something with it," William said.It can be a humbling game, but it’s one of the reasons why Jennings got involved with the sport at such a young age.“So I probably started when I was like 8 or 7, probably younger when I was messing around, but my older brother really got me into it, I wanted to do whatever he was going to do," Jennings said.The Greenville native and University of Alabama commit has seen his stock rise, all the way to the top of the junior rankings.“Definitely really cool, you know, I’ve been playing junior golf forever," Jennings said. "So to reach the top of the rankings was definitely a big accomplishment for me."He's preparing to represent his school, the Upstate, and his country on the world stage in June as a member of Team USA at the 2024 Toyota World Cup in Tokyo, Japan.“One of my buddies texted me and was, like, 'want to go to Japan?' I was like, 'yeah, definitely. Obviously, I had to figure out a few more details than that but it’s going to be a really cool experience," Jennings said.Through all the tournament wins, this Upstate standout will continue navigating his golf career, one hole at a time.“Obviously, I want to be on the PGA tour, that’s the end goal, maybe be No. 1 in the world there at some point, but I’m just going to keep taking it step by step. College golf is next and then we’ll go from there," Jennings said.
