Haiti - Football : Enhanced security for the match Nicaragua - Haiti
For the match of the League of Nations of the Confederation of North America, Central America and Caribbean (CONCACAF) Haiti - Nicaragua to be played Saturday, November 17 at 7:00 pm local (8:00 pm in Port-au-Prince , Haiti) in the Dennis Martinez National Stadium in Managua, exceptional security measures were taken for fear of overflowing and excesses of Nicaraguan supporters with passionate temperament and often unpredictable and sometimes violent reactions...

Among the security measures, Ildefonso Agurcia, the Secretary General of the Nicaraguan Football Federation (FENIFUT) explained that the Federation had hired 200 private security guards who will be in the stands and allowed to expel or hand over to the police all the people who do not respect the established rules.

In addition, the Nicaraguan National Police will deploy 300 police officers. "We will have enough staff to guarantee the security of the event," said Commissioner Fernando Borge, spokesman for the national police, adding that an "additional special force" will be ready to respond to any incident "We will reinforce domestic security 15 minutes before the end of the match to prevent the fans from invading the field in the event of a Nicaragua victory."

Ildefonso Agurcia, said "We will not allow any banner. We will be strict with banners, we will not allow any kind of political or religious proselytism, this is stipulated in the FIFA regulations on safety in stadiums and has nothing to do with the political context of Nicaragua. People will be allowed to enter with the Nicaraguan flag, but not bigger than 2m by 1.5m. The big flags will be confiscated."

Agurcia and Borge have asked the fans to be patient when they enter the stadium, as there will be rigorous searches. "Arrive early because the entry will be slow. The doors will be open from 4 pm Said Fenifut's secretary.

CONCACAF recalls that it authorized to play in Nicaragua the League of Nations Haiti-Nicaragua with high security measures and with the warning that if the match was suspended, it will not be rescheduled elsewhere and Nicaragua would lose the three points.

Also on Thursday, under the supervision of CONCACAF officials Ricardo Morales (Guatemala, match coordinator, Gema Luque (Panama, match coordinator) and Victor Estrada (Guatemala, security control supervisor), our Grenadiers entered for the first time on the lawn of the national stadium of Managua. This is a new artificial grass that has just been put on the field of play of this stadium with a capacity of 20,000. Marc Collat hopes that the new lawn will bring the chance to the grenadiers.

Thursday the Grenadiers had a light recovery-based training session, because of the previous day's session, which was very intense and needed to recover.
