Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka calls on the nation to strengthen our values, nurture respect, and build environments where our children can grow with purpose and dignity.

In his Palm Sunday message, Rabuka extended his heartfelt condolences to the family of the one-year-old child who tragically passed away in a road accident in Seaqaqa, Macuata, two days ago.

He says may the grieving family find comfort in the love that surrounds them during this difficult time.

Rabuka says let us reflect deeply on the lives of unfortunate children among us — those who have passed on this year and those who still face hardship, neglect, or are at risk of falling through the cracks of society.

He adds in this day and age, our fight against social ills such as drugs, crime, and violence begins within our homes.

The Prime Minister says let us work towards building stronger families and homes for a stronger and prosperous Fiji.

He says Fiji, a nation of many ethnicities, cultural backgrounds and beliefs, will grow stronger when we all unite for the common good of our country.

While extending his best wishes to other non-Christian children, Rabuka says the true meaning of this special day fosters the message of humility and commemorates the powerful act of love and sacrifice for humanity, which was demonstrated by the Lord Jesus Christ on the Cross at Mount Calvary.

He says this powerful act reminds us to recommit ourselves to the journey of service and sacrifice that Jesus Christ showed us.

The Prime Minister says let Jesus' example inspire each of us — parents, leaders, neighbours — to reach out to those in need, especially the children whose voices are often unheard.
