Nevada City United Methodist Church celebrates the season with crafts, outreach

Nevada City United Methodist Church, the oldest Methodist Church in California, will be the location of an immigrant prayer vigil next Wed. April 16.

The Nevada City Methodist Church will be hosting a prayer vigil in support of immigrants on Wednesday, April 16 from 6-8 PM. The vigil is offered to provide a quiet reflective atmosphere for the public to reflect on what motivates them to feel empathy and support for immigrants in our community and nation. The church is located at 433 Broad Street, at the top of the hill.

The invitation to attend is intended to be inclusive of many different denominations of faith and secular backgrounds. People will be able to see projected some of the motivating principles from various faith and secular traditions that speak to human rights of immigration. Attendees may also write additional reflections that arise from their personal contemplation to have read aloud.
