HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. (WSMV) - Several people and animals had to be evacuated on Friday morning due to high water in Hopkinsville, according to WKDZ.

Christian County Rescue responded to a flooded apartment to help four people evacuate on North Drive.

While helping them, a vehicle drove into the water nearby. WKDZ said the driver was able to get out, get on top of the vehicle and wait for a boat to help them.

WKDZ said people were rescued from the following locations:

  • Two on Bell Street
  • One on Barrow Street
  • Five on Means Avenue

Additionally, the Hopkinsville Fire Department and Christian County Rescue began helping evacuate 30 or more pets from The Pet Lodge on North Drive.
