A 'transracial' glamour model, who was born white but now 'identifies as Black' after tanning injections deepened her complexion, has revealed she wants to 'build bridges' between races after being baptised in Africa.

Speaking from her home in Germany, Martina Big, 36, told FEMAIL she was christened Malaika Kubwa - meaning 'Big Angel' in Swahili - during the religious ceremony at a Kenyan church in 2019.

'This little church was close to a very dangerous river,' Martina said, in a clipped German accent, during our Zoom call.

Since the river was experiencing high tide, the pastor advised Martina, who claims to have the biggest breasts in Europe, against a traditional immersion baptism. Instead, he collected the water in a bottle and poured it over her head.

'The pastor said, "You are very special and I want to baptise you, but it's too dangerous to go to this river. Let's do it a little bit differently,"' she recalled the day she received her new identity - one that 'matched' her body.

The former air hostess first made headlines in 2017 when she declared 'it's better to be black' as she showed off her jawdropping transformation - that has been widely criticised - during an appearance on The Maury Show.

Standing before a horrified studio audience, Martina explained that both she and her husband, Michael Eurwen, had injected themselves with Melanotan - a synthetic hormone to darken their skin - with different results.

While Michael came away with a 'medium' tan, Martina claimed that three jabs of the 'special medicine' had turned her skin black.

Eight years later, Martina believes her transformation into an 'exotic barbie' is complete and that her physical features align with her 'racial identity' of being Black.

'In the beginning, I only wanted to have a little bit more of a summer tan,' she told FEMAIL. 'But then I noticed this is more than a summer tan, this is special.'

Speaking from her living room, which was decorated with 890 owl figurines Martina and Michael have collected during their travels, Martina recalled how the injections altered everything from her skin colour and the colour of her eyes, to her peroxide-blonde hair and her eyebrows.

As she began documenting her transformation on social media, Martina was criticised fiercely for cosplaying being Black and doing Blackface - but the model felt she was being guided to her destiny.

‘I thought you have to change your mindset and so I learned, step-by-step, how to match my mindset to being Black and learning more about the culture,' Martina, who has spent nearly £67,000 on altering her appearance, said.

‘Body modification is one step, but being [one] in your mind with your look is very important,' she continued.

After three trips to the continent, Martina introduces herself as Black - and sees herself as something of a 'bridge' between races.

'I'm proud that I changed myself in total, and so I try to be a bridge [between white and Black people],' she said.

When asked whether she worries about offending people who wore born Black, Martina simply said she receives ‘a lot of emails’ from people who ‘feel uncomfortable in my colour’ and want her help to achieve a different appearance.

'I know that I'm black,' she said. 'And I know how to live my life and I know how to build bridges between this.

'But I need people who are a little bit interested in what's going on. If they are very, very angry, nobody can help them.

'I'm not attacking you,' she continued. 'You can have your place, I will have my place.'

Martina, who has 32T breasts after operations to enhance them, also recently claimed she and her husband have 'received invitations from fans in many African countries' to settle among them.

'Currently, we have Kenya and Namibia on our shortlist,' Martina recently shared the couple's emigration plans, adding it 'hasn't been easy to choose'.

She expressed her desire to 'widen her nose' via surgery and undergo a butt augmentation before relocating to Africa from west Germany.

'Since I want my surgeries very extreme, I don't know any surgeons in Africa who can do those,' Martina said at the time. 'I am hoping that we can resolve the remaining issues soon and realise our dream of emigrating as soon as possible.'

Since 2012, Martina has gone under the knife several times to fulfill her fantasy of looking like a Barbie - including a rhinoplasty to make her nose smaller, liposuction to get 'long legs' like the Mattel doll, veneers for a 'super smile', lip fillers, and implants.

Now, she has shared her plans to pump her breasts until they each hold 20,000 cc (or 20 litres) of saline liquid in custom-made implants so that 'when they're filled they will be double the size of the actual record-holder'.

It appears Martina has undergone a ‘transaxillary breast augmentation’ or ‘scarless’ breast augmentation where saline implants are inserted through a small incision in the armpit. ‘I can watch my boobs growing,’ she said, proudly.

‘I like the extremes,’ she added, referring to her 32T chest size and narrow waist.

The controversial German model has previously said she will 'pump' her breasts until they are 'as big as the Titanic' in a Facebook post.

'Sometimes I am amazed by my self how much my breasts have grown in the last time,' said Martina, who was a natural 32D bra size but now has 32T breasts after multiple operations to enhance them.

'But that's not enough for me! I will pump my breasts even bigger, Biggger and BIGGGGER until they are as big as the Titanic.'

The noral range of breast implant sizes can range from 125 cc (or cubic centimetres) up to 600 cc, with anything larger than this requiring a custom-made implant.

Martina's dramatic skin colour change has been well documented in recent years.

In 2019, she shocked This Morning viewers when she revealed that she expected her future children to be born with dark skin, despite her and husband Michael both being born white.

Then presenter Holly Willoughby asked: 'Doctors have told you that your baby will be be black?'

Martina replied: 'Yep, they said they will be black. We have also discussed about breast feeding and if it is safe for me to have a baby.'

She later clarified on Facebook, saying: 'Doctors say that I am physically now a black woman and my future children will be black. And I believe the doctors!'

However, viewers on Twitter questioned her logic: 'I'm so sorry, but no amount of cosmetic changes will affect your genetics. If you were born white, your children will be white. I think Martina needs to find a new doctor.'

On the show, the couple who married in Hawaii in 2018, said they identified as black.

'I can clearly feel that I am black – but its hard to find the right words to describe it,' Martina said at the time.
