River Plate and Rosario Central drew 2-2 in the match corresponding to the 10th date of the Argentine League. Neither could climb to the top of the standings.

López attacked from the left, gained speed and went alone, waited for the right moment and crossed for Copetti who entered alone and, one meter away from the goal, missed the shot.

The referee added 5 more minutes from now.               

The match was stopped with the two goals and the five change windows used.

Lautaro Giaccone faced from the right, waited for the right moment and threw the filtered pass for Enzo Copetti's diagonal from the center to the right and threw the pass to the middle for Santiago López to push it. 2-2.

Santiago López and Enzo Giménez replaced Emanuel Coronel and Ignacio Malcorra. Fourth and fifth change in Central, which used up variants in three windows.

Fabricio Bustos pressed on the right side of the opponent's box, recovered and sent the cross to the far post. Juan Cruz Komar managed to clear it with his head, but the ball fell to Ian Subiabre, who shot downwards and went over Jorge Broun to make it 2-1.

Giaccone played long from the right to the left for the Campaz run and went towards the area. The Colombian got to the back line and threw the cross for the arrival of the midfielder who was very close to finish.

Midfielder Lautaro Giaccone replaced injured midfielder Gaspar Duarte. First change in Central, which still has four variants and two windows. 

River keeps control of the possession and is closer to the second goal than Central, which is planted in its own field and waits for the opponent's mistake to counterattack.

As in the first half, again there is a Central player lying on the ground. The midfielder Duarte suffered a foot strike from Acuña and asked for medical assistance.

The referee gave the order, the second 45 minutes are being played.

Both showed good performances, but River was just slightly better than Central.

The match did not have many stoppages in this first half, but two goals and a hit by Rosario Central's goalkeeper who was treated.

Campaz overflowed down the left, controlled in complete solitude, went inside parallel to the back line and crossed to Malcorra, who shot from inside the area and Armani prevented the goal. It was disallowed for offside at the start

Central played a short corner kick from the left and Malcorra gave the pass to the edge of the area for Campaz to reach, who shot and ended up deflecting off Aliendro before going just wide of Armani's left post.

Midfielder Franco Ibarra was cautioned for an infringement in a defensive position. The player is the first of Rosario Central and of the match.      

The match was stopped for a few minutes so that Rosario Central's goalkeeper Broun could be treated by the medical staff. Campaz took the opportunity to change his boots.

After some very bad minutes in which River got the equalizer and almost turned the score around, Central returned to an offensive posture and looked for another goal.

Malcorra intercepted a bad exit by River's defense, received in three quarters of the field, drove a few meters and shot with his left foot. The ball passed close to Armani's left post.

River maintains the intensity, does not take its foot off the accelerator and looks for the second against a Central team that does not react after the equalizer and is still very deep at the back.

From a free kick from the left side of Central's area, Marcos Acuña crossed for Lucas Martínez Quarta's header to make it 1-1.

Mastantuono took a long free kick into the box, the cross didn't connect with any teammate, it went wide and the goalkeeper Broun managed to deflect it to the corner kick to avoid the equalizer.

River tries to respond quickly so as not to be with a negative result for too long and for that reason they advance even more their lines in search of cornering Central close to their goal.

Ignacio Malcorra took the corner kick from the right for Sebastián Ferreira to head the ball in front of the near post and deflect it to the far post for the 1-0 lead.

Rosario Central defender Juan Cruz Komar collided with a River player and fell to the ground. He was attended to by the medical team. He will continue without problems

The last meeting was on December 8, 2024 in the Liga Profesional de Fútbol and the “Millonario” defeated the “Canallas” 4-0.

River Plate has just eliminated Ciudad de Bolivar from the Copa Argentina, while Rosario Central defeated Gimnasia La Plata 2-1.

Jaminton Campaz, the team's top scorer and one of the players with the most participations in goals at the beginning of the season, will be looking to continue on this path to keep the top of the standings and increase his personal tally in this great challenge. The 24-year-old striker has scored four goals in nine games played, of which he was a starter in all of them. He scored against Godoy Cruz, Lanús, Atlético Tucumán and Newell's in the Rosario classic.

Facundo Colidio, the team's top scorer and one of the players with the most goals in the beginning of the year, will try to score again to get closer to the top of the table and increase his personal tally. The 25-year-old forward has scored three goals: two in the same match and one against Atlético Tucumán, in nine appearances, of which he started eight of them. Last season he was River's second top scorer with 16 goals in 49 games played.

These two teams have met 171 times over the years in official matches in different competitions. Of the total, River won 89, Rosario Central won 34 times and they drew the remaining 48 matches, leaving a difference of 55 encounters. The last meeting was on December 8, 2024 in the Argentine League and the “Millonario” defeated the “Canallas” 4-0.

On the other hand, the “Canalla” is coming with two matches without defeats and without having made its debut in this Copa Argentina, so it did not play any match during the FIFA date. At the beginning of the season, they are in second place in the standings with 21 points, the same as Independiente, but with less goal difference. That is why they will be looking for this victory that will allow them to take off and reach the top. So far they have six wins, three draws and only one loss.

The “Millonario” is coming from an important victory to take the first step in the Argentine Cup.
