Sydney Sweeney Takes a Dip in a Sultry String Bikini amid Breakup Rumors with Fiancé Jonathan Davino

Sydney Sweeney is getting away from it all — at the bottom of a swimming pool!

On Thursday, March 27, the actress shared a photo and video of her languidly posing and relaxing at the bottom of a crystal clear pool while wearing a string bikini and a pair of sunglasses.

The clip — which may have been taken during her recent girls’ vacation to Africa — shows the Euphoria star pointing her toes and arching her back as she got comfortable on the pool tiles. The striking video — which starts with a voiceover saying “I want to be as beautiful as the ocean" — is accompanied by the 1989 Chris Isaak tune “Wicked Game.”

Sweeney is wearing the FAE x Revolve Lumi top and Jones bottom in lace and denim for her sexy swim.

In the week prior to her pool post, Sweeney had been offering her 24 million Instagram followers an insight into her recent vacation, including images of a hot air balloon trip in Tanzania and snaps on a safari accompanied by the caption, "this was wild."

On March 24, Sweeney seemingly deleted a photo of herself kissing her fiancé, Jonathan Davino, on New Year’s Eve from Instagram. Fans have been speculating about Sweeney's relationship with her film producer fiancé, 41, in recent weeks after reports emerged that she's staying at the Beverly Hills Hotel by herself. The picture's removal was first reported by DeuxMoi.

Representatives for Sweeney did not respond to PEOPLE's request for comment on March 24.

Sweeney and Davino are thought to have become a couple in 2018, and they got engaged in 2022. Though the Immaculate actress generally kept her relationship out of the spotlight, she did admit to Glamour UK in December 2023 that Davino was her “best friend,” adding that they had been in a “steady relationship for a really long time.”

"Everyone is always so curious about who I’m with and what’s that like, but I think it’s important to have something for me," she noted to the outlet.

Touching on marriage with the publication, Sweeney did admit however that she “definitely” wanted to tie the knot one day, sharing that she even had a Pinterest board for her dream wedding. 

PEOPLE confirmed in March 2022 that Sweeney and Davino were set to walk down the aisle after she was spotted in L.A. wearing a large diamond ring on that finger.
