A total of 22 students from the Quran and Tajweed Guidance Class at Suri Seri Begawan Raja Pengiran Anak Damit Mosque, Kampong Manggis/Madang, were celebrated in a Khatam Al Quran ceremony held at the mosque yesterday.
Tajweed Al-Quran class instructor Md Suhnoromardi bin Haji Suhaimi, in his remarks, expressed his appreciation for the students’ dedication to learning the Al-Quran and Tajweed.
He emphasised that studying the Al-Quran is highly encouraged in Islam, with every word recited bringing multiple rewards.
“We are all very happy with this achievement, especially when it is completed during the month of Ramadhan. This is a reflection of the wisdom and blessings gained from reading and learning Al-Quran, regardless of age,” he said.
The ceremony began with Md Suhnoromardi leading the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah, followed by the common surahs from Surah Ad-Dhuha to Surah An-Nas.
He also recited the Doa Khatam and Doa Peliharakan Sultan dan Negara Brunei Darussalam.
The ceremony was further enlivened with a Dikir Marhaban performed by the Khatam participants.
The Tajweed Al-Quran class at the mosque is conducted every Wednesday and Thursday under the guidance of Md Suhnoromardi. – Lyna Mohamad
