Mary Coady (née Connolly), St Michael's Rd, Longford Town, Longford

The death occurred peacefully in the care of the staff of Mullingar Regional Hospital surrounded by her heartbroken family on Tuesday, March 25, 2025 of Mary Coady (née Connolly), St Michael's Rd, Longford Town, Longford. 

Predeceased by her parents Joseph and Kathleen, sister Teresa and auntie Betty Dowd. Mary will be forever missed by her loving family , daughter Lydia, son Aidan, her adored grandchildren Allana, Mia, John, Tanzin and Delilah, son-in-law Padraig Dolan, her beloved brother Micko and sisters Sandra, Rossario, Olga, Anne and Rose, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and dear friends. 

We hold you close within our hearts and there you shall remain to walk with us throughout our lives until we meet again. Rest in Peace Mary. Reposing in Connell's Funeral Home, Church Street, Longford N39 KN66 on Thursday, March 27 from 6pm concluding with prayers at 7.30pm. Removal to arrive to St Mel's Cathedral, Longford on Friday, March 28 for Funeral Mass at 11am. Following Mass which can be viewed HERE, Mary will be laid to rest in Ballymacormack Cemetery.

Breda Smith, Barrack Street, Granard, Co Longford

The death occurred peacefully at Cavan General Hospital on Tuesday, March 25, 2025 of Breda Smith, Barrack Street, Granard, Co Longford. Predeceased by her father T.P. Breda will be sadly missed by her loving mother Mary, sisters Geraldine and Elaine brothers Bernard and Tomás, her children and grandchildren in America, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, aunt Lena, uncle Noel, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. May She Rest In Peace.

Breda’s Funeral Mass will take place on Friday, March 28 at St Mary's Church, Granard, at 11am followed by cremation service at Lakelands Crematorium Cavan. House private please. Funeral Mass can be viewed HERE

Gerard (Gerry) Quinn, Knocklyon, Dublin / Edgeworthstown, Co Longford

The death occurred peacefully at St James Hospital on Tuesday, March 25, 2025 of Gerard (Gerry) Quinn Knocklyon, Dublin/ Edgeworthstown, Co Longford.

Predeceased by his parents Brigid and Hugh, infant brother Michael, sister Mary & Brother Patrick. Loving husband to his wife Jenny, Sons Eoin & Ronan, Eoin's partner Aisling, daughter-in-law Aoife, grandchild Fiadh, brother Hugh, sisters- in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, and many friends. Rest in Peace.

Reposing in Fanagans Funeral Home Willbrook Rathfarnham on Friday, March 28 from 5pm to 7pm. Funeral Mass on Saturday, March 29 in St Colmcille’s Church Knocklyon at 11am followed by cremation in Mount Jerome Crematorium Harolds Cross. Patricia (Patsy) McCormack (née Colgan), No 3 Goldsmith Terrace, Ballymahon, Longford

The death occurred peacefully at home surrounded by her family after a short illness on Tuesday, March 25, 2025 of Patricia (Patsy) McCormack (nee Colgan), No 3 Goldsmith Terrace, Ballymahon, Co Longford.

Deeply regretted and sadly missed by her husband Fiachra (Fi). Daughters Martina (Gill) and Angela (Kelly), her loving grandchildren Amy, Andrew, Rebecca, Grayce and Isaac. Her sister Mary (Carey) sons-in-law Anthony and Gary, nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and neighbours. Rest in Peace.

Reposing in St Matthews Church, Ballymahon on Wednesday evening, March 26 from 5pm until 7.30pm followed by prayers. Funeral Mass on Thursday, March 27 at 11am followed by burial in Shrule Cemetery. House private please. Family flowers only, Donations in lieu if desired to Longford Palliative Care Unit.

Annie Harkin (née Bohan), Glasdrumman, Gorvagh, Leitrim, N41 D838 / Mohill, Leitrim

The death occurred peacefully in the gentle care of the staff of Arus Carolan, Mohill on Tuesday, March 25, 2025 of Annie Harkin (née Bohan), Glasdrumman, Gorvagh and formally of Laheennamona, Mohill, Co Leitrim.

Predeceased by her husband Peter and daughter-in-law Noeleen. Sadly missed by her loving sons PJ, Johnny and daughters Marie (Barry) and Ann (McCaffrey), sons-in-law Kevin and John, daughter-in-law Deirdre. Deeply adored and missed by her grandchildren Ann-Marie, Johanna, Jason, Sinead, Ethan, Kalon, Evan, Sean, Emily, Chloe and Miya and her great grandchildren, Cillian, Michaela, Diarmuid, Gearòid and Katie, her nieces, nephews, neighbours and friends. Annie will always be remembered for her warmth and kindness by all who met her. May Annie rest in peace.

Annie will repose at the residence of her son PJ, Breandrum, Mohill (Eircode N41 D838) on Thursday, March 27 between 4 to 8pm. House private please outside of reposing times. Removal to St Patrick's Church, Mohill for funeral Mass on Friday, March 28 at 12 noon followed by burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Kyran Geraghty, Lusk, Dublin / Ballyleague, Roscommon

The death occurred peacefully, surrounded by family and in the excellent care of the staff of the ICU in Portiuncula Hospital, Galway on Monday, March 24, 2025 of Kyran Geraghty, Ballyleague, Co Roscommon, late of Lusk, Co Dublin. 

Predeceased by his parents Tom and Florrie. Sadly missed by his wife Carmel, sons Paul and Mark, daughter Elaine, daughter-in-law Valerie, son-in-law Niall and Paul’s partner Lisa. Deeply regretted by his grandchildren Kathleen and Donnacha and their mum Fidelma, Conor, Rosie, Savannah, Casey, Jonah and Honor, sisters Nola, Ann, Brenda, Barbara, Gaye and Kathy, aunts Phyllis and Ursula, cousins, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces, grand nephews and nieces, friends and neighbours. Reposing at Lannon’s Funeral Home, Skerries on Thursday, March 27 from 6pm to 8pm. Removal on Friday, March 28 to St MacCullin’s Church, Lusk arriving for 11am funeral mass, burial thereafter in Ardla Cemetery, Skerries.

Carmel Flanagan (née Mooney), Leitrim Village, Co Leitrim / Milltown, Dublin

The death occurred peacefully in the exceptional care of the staff in North West Hospice, Sligo, and in the loving arms of her family, after a short illness on Monday, March 24, 2025 of Carmel Flanagan of Leitrim Village, and formerly of Drumshanbo, Co Leitrim and Columbanus, Milltown, Dublin.

She will be deeply missed by her husband Ray, her children Michelle and Paul, son-in-law John and daughter-in-law Lisa, her beautiful grandchildren, stepchildren and step grandchildren, her brothers and sisters, extended family and friends. James (Jimmy) O'Keeffe, Tonlagee, Corlough, Cavan / Castleconnell, Limerick

The death occurred peacefully at his home on Sunday, March 23, 2025 of James (Jimmy) O'Keeffe, Tonlagee, Corlough, Cavan/ Castleconnell, Limerick.

Predeceased by his beloved wife Annie, his brothers John, Timothy & Arthur and his sister Margaret. Jimmy will be sadly missed by his loving daughter Caroline (& Billy Wykes), his sons Oliver and James (& Catriona Naughton), his sisters Bridget Gibbs (& Tony) (UK), Mary McDermott (Birr), Teresa Bell (London) and Annie (Boodles) O’Keeffe (London), his brothers Brian (& Bridie) (Limerick), Michael (& Margaret) (Limerick), and Dan (& Kathleen) (Limerick), his beloved granddaughters Candice Ray-O’Keeffe & Hannah Naughton and all of his extended family, neighbours & friends. Rest in Peace.

Reposing at Smith's Funeral Home, High Street, Ballinamore, Co Leitrim N41 TD62 on Wednesday evening, March 26 from 6pm until 8pm. Removal from his home on Thursday morning, March 27 to arrive at St. Patrick's Church, Corlough for Funeral Mass at 12 noon. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. "So tear up your mourning and hang up your brightest colours in his honour; and let us all praise God" - This quote from George Bernard Shaw was a favourite of Jimmy's. In his honour, the family would love if those attending the funeral would wear their brightest colours.         Brendan Dunne, Gardanne, France / formerly of Ballyleague, Lanesboro, Roscommon

        The death occurred peacefully following an illness borne with great courage on Saturday, March 15, 2025 of Brendan Dunne, Gardanne, France and formerly of Ballyleague, Lanesboro, Co Roscommon. 

        Beloved husband to Marion (McDevitt) and devoted father to Emma & Matthieu. Cherished son of Noreen and the late Denis. Loving brother to Siobhán, Gráinne, Gary, Niamh & Fiona. Brendan will be sadly missed by his heartbroken family, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and a wide circle of friends and neighbours.
