Sean McGrath continued his dominant run this season, throwing a complete-game shutout to lead the San Marin High baseball team to a 4-0 win against Marin Catholic on Tuesday.

McGrath allowed five hits and struck out six while registering his fourth shutout in five outings this season. McGrath lowered his earned-run average to 0.32, having allowed one earned run — last week against Novato — in 29 innings of work.

San Marin (7-2, 7-1 MCAL) scored twice in the third and twice in the fifth. Hunter Uriarte had two hits for the Mustangs. Luke Martin had a pair of hits to pace MC (7-4, 4-3).

  • Sam Gersch and Miles Harrison had three RBIs apiece as Redwood rolled to a 155-4 victory against San Rafael on Tuesday. Theo Trono had three hits, two RBIs, and scored three times out of the leadoff spot for the Giants (4-4-1, 4-3). Starting pitcher Jack Moseley allowed two runs (one earned) and four hits in four innings. Moseley also had a hit, two RBIs, and scored twice at the plate. Aedan Bardoul continued to hit for power for the Bulldogs (6-6, 4-3) with two hits, a home run, two RBIs, and two runs scored.
  • Jackson Van Til and Henry Pearson combined on a four-hitter as Tam picked up a 4-0 victory against Terra Linda on Tuesday. Will Gensler hit a solo homer and Tito Fierstein drove in two runs for the Red-tailed Hawks (8-3, 4-1). Alex Rambo had two hits for TL (3-7, 0-5).
  • Archie Williams drew five walks in the second inning then added to its lead with RBI singles by Jack Evans and August Block en route to a 6-3 victory against Branson on Tuesday. The Peregrine Falcons (4-6, 3-4) scored all six of their runs in the second after the Bulls (5-5, 1-5) scored all three of theirs in the first. Charlie Osher hit a two-run single for the Bulls then Thomas Lardner added an RBI single. Leo Hendricks pitched all seven innings for Archie Williams, allowing six hits and three earned runs against six strikeouts.
  • Dominic Scafani had three hits and Gio Castaing and Cohen Garcia had two each but Novato fell 4-2 against American Canyon on Tuesday, despite outhitting the Wolves 9-4. Novato (4-6) scored twice in the top of the third to take a 2-1 lead but the Wolves (5-5) responded with three runs in the bottom of the frame.
  • Reed Meyer drove in the lone run for Marin Academy in a 13-1 loss to Stuart Hall on Tuesday. Jacob Pinguelo had two hits for the Wildcats (3-4).

Beach volleyball

San Domenico continues to try to find its footing this season after a 3-0 loss to host Windsor. The Panthers, searching for their first win, got strong efforts from the teams Ashley Bryan/Luna Barnes and Chloe Mercier/Lilie Plunkett. San Domenico is scheduled to face Convent on Wednesday.

Golf

Registration is open for the 36th annual Marin Athletic Fund golf tournament. The event is scheduled for Monday, April 21, at Indian Valley Golf Club, with a 12:30 p.m. shotgun start. Motor sports

Petaluma’s Tyler O’Hara will host and organize a MotoAmerica Mission Mini Cup Qualifier at Sonoma Raceway on July 19-20, as an opportunity for young riders to compete on a national stage — even if they don’t own a motorcycle.

The winners of this qualifier will earn a spot in the Mission Mini Cup National Final, taking place August 8-10 at Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin. The event will also feature a Hawk Mazzotta Moto Camp, where riders of all skill levels can receive expert training from top racers, including former MotoGP star John Hopkins.
