Beavers make plays in tough road outings against Baptist Prep, Woodlawn

The Beavers fell short to Baptist Prep and Woodlawn in two challenging match-ups—but still maintained to display productive playmaking in both contests.

Beavers’ Weston Stanley went 1-for-2, while Kellan Wells powered two hits with an RBI and Walker Aaron went 1-for-1 at the plate against Baptist Prep. On the mound, Stanley struck out two batters, Wells pitched one and one-thirds innings and struck out two batters, while Brayden Hall pitched two innings and allowed one earned run against the Eagles.

The Beavers were shut out against Woodlawn 9-0 in a tough road match-up. Offensively, Wells collected a hit and went 1-for-3, Stanley and Parker Johnson both went 1-for-3 at the plate. Johnson’s hit was a double to power a big play against the Woodlawn Bears. On the mound, Braxton Burget pitched three innings, allowed three hits—Hall pitched three innings and struck out one batter

Glen Rose baseball head coach Camryn Wood thought the Beavers struggled in their tough match-ups. Despite coming up short, Wood still believes the Beavers can rebound from their defeats and grasp back into the win column once conference starts.

“We struggled against Baptist and Woodlawn In two games against Woodlawn and Baptist we committed 10 errors and only scored four runs in those two games,” Wood stated.
