IPL 2025 Opening Ceremony Performers Full List: Kolkata’s Eden Gardens is set to host the opening match of IPL 2025, with Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) taking on Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in a high-stakes clash on Saturday. Fans in the City of Joy are eagerly anticipating the face-off between KKR’s Ajinkya Rahane and Varun Chakravarthy against RCB’s Virat Kohli and Rajat Patidar.

Adding to the excitement, the IPL 2025 opening ceremony will feature performances by Bollywood singer Shreya Ghoshal, Punjabi artist Karan Aujla, and actress Disha Patani. However, Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) President Snehasis Ganguly confirmed that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has allotted only 35 minutes for the ceremony.

Reports suggest that Salman Khan, Varun Dhawan, Katrina Kaif, Triptii Dimri, Ananya Panday, Madhuri Dixit, and Janhvi Kapoor will be part of the IPL 2025 opening ceremony.

“We need to conclude the entire show within the given timeframe, and the rest of the proceedings will continue as they do every year,” Ganguly said. He also confirmed that tickets for the opening match have been completely sold out, with overwhelming demand from cricket fans in Kolkata.

Security Concerns Over April 6 Match Against LSG

While excitement is at an all-time high for the IPL opener, KKR is facing an unexpected hurdle for their next match at Eden Gardens. The Kolkata Police has informed CAB that they will be unable to provide adequate security for KKR’s fixture against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) on April 6, due to Ram Navami celebrations in the city.

Snehasis Ganguly revealed that discussions are underway with BCCI to find a solution. “The police have informed us that they cannot ensure security for the match. We have requested BCCI to consider rescheduling or shifting the game. We have been in touch with the sports ministry and the Chief Minister, and we expect clarity in the next two or three days,” he said.

Sources indicate that the BCCI may consider swapping the match with another fixture or changing the venue, as such adjustments have been made in previous IPL seasons. A final decision is expected soon.

With a packed Eden Gardens and star-studded performances, IPL 2025 is set for an electrifying start. However, whether Kolkata will retain its April 6 fixture remains to be seen.
