On Tuesday, a Care Cupboard in front of the Rutledge Center in Newnan was filled with food and blessed.
The cupboard, made possible with a gift from St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Newnan, will be filled with nonperishable foods that will be available free for those who need it.
The cupboard will be maintained by the Aktion Club, a special needs group within the local Kiwanis chapter.
Anne Graner said that a St. Paul’s member who wishes to remain anonymous donated $15,000 to the church’s outreach to alleviate hunger in the community.
A portion of that gift was used for the Care Cupboard.
