ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) - The Salvation Army of Roanoke tells WDBJ7 the organization fell short of its 2024 Red Kettle goal of $135,000 by bringing in $97,933.87.

This means a negative impact for several of Salvation Army’s programs. For Roanoke, that ranges from seniors and youth weekly programs, youth summer camp, and the Turning Point shelter.

Typically, the Salvation Army raises during Christmas is what carries them through the next year.

Staff says now it is more important than ever to bridge that financial gap. May 2, 2025, the Salvation Army we will host its annual Golf Tournament at Hanging Rock Golf Club. There will be an 11:30 a.m. Chick-Fil-A lunch, and tee time is 1:30 p.m.
