Irvington Presbyterian Church, in partnership with Church World Service (CWS) CROP Walks, interfaith hunger education, hunger relief programs and fundraising events, is hosting its annual Rivertowns Hunger Walk on Sunday, April 6 at 2 pm.
Join others from the community on the front lawn of Irvington Presbyterian Church (25 North Broadway, Irvington) before beginning the several mile walking loop to the Tappan Zee / Gov Mario Cuomo Bridge Welcome Center and back via Route 9 and the Old Croton Aqueduct (3.75 miles; for those desiring a shorter loop, Lyndhurst and back is 2.25 miles).
The goal of the Rivertowns Hunger Walk is to step up community efforts to meet increased food needs due to recent federal cuts. More individuals and communities are being pushed into extreme hunger both around the block and around the world. Come join other walkers and raise funds to provide solutions for lessening hunger. There are many ways to participate and give.
The walk and monies raised benefit organizations locally and globally: Feeding Westchester and Dobbs Ferry Food Pantry locally, and CWS around the world. All are welcome—come walk, support walkers, donate or stop by the pre-walk festivities to learn more. There is something for everyone, open to all ages.
Walk, give, and help bridge the gap by walking to the Bridge and back!
