Jamshedpur: The Jamshedpur Kendriya Ramnavami Akhara Samiti requested heightened security arrangements from the district administration for the Hindu Nav Varsha Shoba Yatra on March 28 and Ram Navami immersion procession on April 7, particularly in sensitive areas.
Given the tense atmosphere across the country, including recent violent incidents in Giridih during Holi and the March 17 Nagpur riots, samiti representatives emphasize the need for preventive measures against potential disruptions by anti-social elements.
Samiti president Arun Singh highlighted that this year's security concerns are amplified as the procession routes pass through minority-populated areas during Eid preparations, expected around March 30 or 31. "We held detailed discussions with the DC and SSP on Tuesday regarding these concerns," Singh said.
The organization has identified several sensitive areas requiring special surveillance, including Munsi Mohallah, Gandhi Maidan area in Mango, Dhatkidh in Bistupur, Golmuri, and Jugsalai. DC Ananya Mittal and SSP Kishore Kaushal have assured comprehensive security arrangements to ensure peaceful celebrations. The administration's focus will be on maintaining communal harmony during this period of overlapping religious observances.
