Glorification of Aurangzeb’s grave won’t be allowed in Maharashtra!

  • Inauguration of ‘Shri Chhtrapati Shivaji Maharaj Temple (Shaktipeeth) Complex’ in Bhiwandi

  • Assuring remarks from Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis

  • Declares Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s temple as a temple of nation

Bhiwandi (Thane) – On March 17, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis assured, ‘no matter what, Maharashtra will not allow the glorification or praise of Aurangzeb’s grave. I assure you that any such attempt will be crushed immediately and decisively. He made this declaration during the inauguration of the ‘Shri Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Temple Complex’ in Bhiwandi. The event was attended by former Union Minister Kapil Patil, MLA Kisan, Kathore and other dignitaries. The Chief Minister also announced that the temple complex would be officially recognized as a pilgrimage site.

The Chief Minister further stated…

1. It is our misfortune that we must protect Aurangzeb’s grave

While the existence of Aurangzeb’s grave is one thing, the Archaeological Survey of India has declared it a ‘Protected Site’. Therefore, both state and Union governments are responsible for its upkeep. (Patriotic citizens expect the government to amend the law governing ‘Protected Sites’ and introduce legislation to remove all symbols of invaders! – Editor) It’s truly unfortunate that we are compelled to protect the grave of a ruler who was responsible for the massacre of thousands of our people, the Chief Minister remarked.

2. No worship is complete without paying homage to Chattrapati Shivaji Maharaj

The only reason we can enter our temples and worship our deities today is because of Chhatrapti Shivaji Maharaj. He fought and won the battle for the Dharma, the Nation, and our Gods, ensuring that we remain Hindus and can freely worship our deities. Just as the worship of Lord Ram is incomplete without seeking the blessings of Deity Hanuman, in the same way, no worship can be truly fruitful without paying homage to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the Shivkranti Pratishan Trust for their decision to build this temple in his honor. I bow before you for this noble work. This is not just a temple – it features a magnificent fortress wall, watchtowers, a grand entrance, a garden, and vivid depictions of the key moments from Shivaji Maharaj’s life. Alongside Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, the divine mother of Maharashtra, Goddess Tulja Bhavani and Rajmata Jijabai are also enshrined here. Thus, this is not just a temple – it is a national shrine, a source of great inspiration for us all.

3. Like Shriram, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj is also a ‘YugPurush’!

In our country, we revere Shriram as a ‘Yugpurush’ – a leader who ushered in a new era. He united ordinary people, awakened their inner strength, and, relying on their courage, defeated the greatest forces of adharma (unrighteousness) in the world. By doing so, he paved the way for a new age. Similarly, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj brought together people from all sections of society, instilled valor and strength in them, and led them to fight against oppression. Like Shriram, he was not just a warrior but a visionary who transformed an era.

4. Fight for God, Nation and Dharma – not for the throne

He instilled the belief that our battle is not for a king or a throne, but for our Gods, our Nation, and our Dharma.

5. Efforts to secure ‘World Heritage Site’ status for Shivaji Maharaj’s 12 forts!

A united Maharashtra bound by unity and harmony, is the Maharashtra that Chhtrapati Shivaji Maharaj envisioned – not one divided by caste and religion. That should be our commitment when stepping into his temple. We are actively working to get ‘World Heritage Sites’ status for 12 of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s forts. Additionally, We will establish a memorial for Chhtrapati Sambhaji Maharaj in Sangameshwar. We have also requested the Uttar Pradesh government to develop Agra’s Kothi as a historical memorial.
