The 98th Academy Awards ceremony, presented by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS), will mark the return of comedian Conan O’Brien to the stage as host. The announcement was made by The Academy on Monday (March 17, 2025) through a special social media post.
The revelation has left fans beaming with joy. “Can you just have him on stage the whole time? The awards for the others took away from Conan. Less awards, more Conan – unless the awards are for Conan,” commented an Instagram user. Another user of the popular photo and video-sharing social networking service wrote, “He should host it forever. Hollywood needs to stop pretending he’s not the best personality in hosting. He has been for decades now.”
The 61-year-old star was quoted by PTI in a statement, saying that the only reason he is hosting the Oscars next year is that he wants to hear Adrien Brody finish his speech. It is to be noted that the 51-year-old actor was honoured with the Academy Award for Best Actor for his portrayal of a Hungarian Jewish architect in Brady Corbet’s period epic The Brutalist.

For the unversed, 2024 marked Conan’s first time leading the show. He garnered immense appreciation from people of all age groups for his signature wit and humour.
As per ANI, the 98th Academy Awards will take place on March 15, 2026, at the Dolby Theatre at Ovation Hollywood. Oscars 2026 will reportedly be executive produced by Raj Kapoor and Katy Mullan.
