On March 2nd, 2025, after 83 years living on terra firma, Maria Romano transferred her residence to the Kingdom of Heaven. A beautiful setting in a gated community where she will be greeted by her late husband Antonino. Her loving family, four sons, four grandchildren and great grandson will remain here until time comes for them to join her.
A celebration of her life will be held at Sacred Heart RC Church, Jasper Street, Hanley on Friday 28th March at 12.30pm followed by interment at Longton Private Garden of Remembrance. The celebration will continue and the family would be delighted if friends could join them at the Upper House, Barlaston at around 2.30pm where light refreshments will be served. Aged 76 years, passed away peacefully at home on 5th March 2025. He was the beloved husband of Christine, devoted father of Judith and the late Ian and loving father-in-law to Scott. A respected stepfather to Gareth, Stella, and Richard. He was a cherished grandfather to Tim, Josh, Jade, Elliott and Isabella. Derek was adored by his six great-grandchildren Alfie, Bobby, Harvey, Isabella, Hunter and Ronnie.
