Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) through the Spiritual and Community Service Unit of the Student Affairs Section hosted a donation ceremony and iftar gathering recently.
The ceremony began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and Tahlil prayer, led by UBD Religious Officer Haji Mohammad Dzulhilmi bin Haji Moharefandi.
UBD Vice-Chancellor Dr Hazri bin Haji Kifle, the guest of honour, presented donations to orphans, single mothers and new Muslim converts (Muallaf) from UBD, emphasising the spirit of giving during the holy month of Ramadhan.
The initiative aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 1: No Poverty. By extending aid, the university helps alleviate financial burdens and fosters inclusive social support systems, ensuring that those in need are not left behind.
The event concluded with a recitation of Doa Selamat, followed by the breaking of fast and the congregational Maghrib prayer.
