A suspect in the murder of Scottish businessman Campbell Scott in Kenya has reportedly stabbed himself to death while on the run.
Scott was discovered dead in a forest in February after disappearing in Nairobi, Kenya's capital.
A manhunt was initiated with police identifying several suspects. It is now reported one of these suspects, Samuel Musembi, was found dead from stab wounds following an unsuccessful attempt to poison himself.
Kenyan news outlet Nation provided details of his death. He was thought to be hiding at a friend's house.
On Tuesday evening, the friend returned home from work to find the front door locked. After forcing entry, he found Musembi unconscious on the bed.
Musembi was rushed to hospital but later died from his injuries. An autopsy will determine the exact cause of death, reports the Daily Record.

Musembi was one of three men wanted for Scott's murder. Kenya's Directorate of Criminal Investigations continues to search for the men who have 'fled and gone into hiding' after the 'heinous crime and subsequent dumping of his body'.
The directorate identified the other suspects as Benard Mbunga Mbusu and Alphonse Munyao Kilewa, alias Edu, who were also arrested a year ago for kidnapping and blackmailing a church pastor.
The directorate stated: "The suspects are linked to the brutal murder of 58-year-old Briton Campbell Scott, whose partially decomposed body was found on February 22, 2025 in Makongo Forest, Makueni sub-county.
"Scott had arrived in the country just days earlier to attend a business conference."
Images of the suspects have been posted on social media site X, with a plea for anyone with information about their whereabouts to get in touch.

Mr Scott was last seen attending a conference at the JW Marriot Hotel in Nairobi on February 16. His body was discovered in a sack in a forest around 66 miles south-east of Nairobi over the weekend of February 22, his hands bound.
Earlier this week, a Kenyan court ruled that two suspects in the murder inquiry can be detained for 21 days for further police investigations. Reports suggest the pair appeared in court in Milimani on Monday, following their arrest in connection with Mr Scott's death.
Tributes have been paid to the victim, a Dunfermline man, by his former employer Fico where he was a senior director. A spokesperson said: "We are devastated by this tragic news. Campbell was a leader in our international scores business.
"He joined Fico in 2014 and was instrumental in introducing scores to new markets and growing our business with existing partnerships. We mourn his passing and will miss his humour and kindness. Our thoughts are with Campbell's family and friends."
Kenyan detectives have described the murder as a "heinous, heinous crime" and are now leading an "intricate and complex" probe.
The UK's Foreign Office said it was supporting the family of a British man who died in Kenya and is in touch with local police.
