Ayan Mukerji's father Deb Mukherjee is no more. Ranbir Kapoor, who is a close friend to Ayan, rushed to the funeral and performed the last rites with the filmmaker. A video of the same has been going viral. Ranbir, who is like family to Ayan, was a part of the funeral procession.

Ranbir Kapoor was spending time with Alia Bhatt in Alibaug but the couple rushed to Mumbai in a jetty for Deb Mukherjee's funeral. Alia Bhatt was captured with her sister Shaheen Bhatt while Ranbir was seen performing the last rites alongside Ayan. He was a part of the funeral procession. As a part of the Hindu culture, he provided shoulder to carry Ayan's father to the funeral site.

Other celebrities pay condolences to Ayan Mukerji and family

Other celebs like Karan Johar, Hrithik Roshan, Kajol, Jaya Bachchan and Salim Khan also paid condolences to Ayan and his family. While Kajol is also family to Ayan (they are cousins), Ranbir, who is like family, shouldered the responsibility of carrying the bier along with other family members of Ayan.
