A joyful Holi celebration turned into a heart-breaking tragedy in Badlapur as four Class X students drowned in Ulhas river while washing off colours after the festival. The incident took place around 2.30 pm near Chamtoli village, casting a pall of gloom over the area.

According to reports, a group of students from the Poddar Housing Complex had gathered by the river to clean off the colours from their Holi celebrations. However, the four—Aryan Medar (15), Aryan Singh (16), Siddharth Singh (16), and Om Tomar (15)—underestimated the depth and current of the river. When one of them began to drown, the others rushed to help but were tragically pulled under as well.

The bodies of all the four were recovered by authorities.
