All Saints Church, in The Causeway, Marlow, is gearing up to take part in the World Day of Prayer event.

The Christian ecumenical event will take place on Friday, March 7, at 11am.

For this year, the service has been prepared by the World Day of Prayer Women of Cook Islands and distributed to groups worldwide.

The World Day of Prayer is a global movement that encourages people to come together in prayer and action.

The event is organised annually by different countries, with a focus on unity and understanding.

The origins of the World Day of Prayer go back to the 19th century, when Christian women in the USA and Canada began organising joint activities to support women's involvement in missions, both at home and abroad.

These efforts gradually developed into the present form of the World Day of Prayer - a worldwide ecumenical movement of informed prayer and prayerful action.

The event organisers have also stated that visitors 'may wish to take this opportunity to learn more about these islands and their community.'

The Marlow Committee of the ecumenical World Day of Prayer will be hosting the service, and attendees will have the chance to learn more about the Cook Islands and their community.
