The Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary of Tyler started their annual spring sale Friday and will continue on Saturday. The community is invited to come shop the wide selection of items with all proceeds benefitting the ongoing programs of The Salvation Army in Tyler.

The Spring Sale will be held at The Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary buildings located at 715 N. Spring Avenue from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. Items will include designer clothes, handbags, jewelry, shoes, furniture, toys, bikes, tools, books and more.

“The Women’s Auxiliary members are tremendous supporters of The Salvation Army here in Tyler and are truly the Army behind the Army. They’ve got three buildings full of merchandise ready for the Spring Sale and we hope to sell it all!” said Captain Michelle Walker, Commanding Officer of The Salvation Army. “I know the ladies have been working hard in preparation for the event, and we invite everyone to come out and shop ‘til you drop! All proceeds go directly back into supporting The Salvation Army of Tyler’s year-round programs that provide hope, help and support to so many in our community.”

The Women’s Auxiliary functions as a fundraising and volunteer service group for programs of The Salvation Army. At almost 300 local members, it is one the largest auxiliaries in Texas. Formed in 1986, the auxiliary works as an extension of The Salvation Army Advisory Board and its purpose is to raise public awareness of The Salvation Army, to facilitate services to the needy, and to strengthen the financial base of the local Salvation Army. Membership is open to all women in the community.
