Local food shuttle expands hours, service areas

The Fresh Food Shuttle sponsored by the New Kensington Downtown Partnership and Wesley Family Services has expanded its hours and now operates from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays for residents of New Kensington, Arnold and Lower Burrell Manor.

Residents can be picked up at their homes and be taken to Golden Dawn, Giant Eagle, Animal Protectors Food Bank and Aldi, all in New Kensington, and Walmart and Aldi, both in Pittsburgh Mills in Frazer.

Riders must be at least 18 years old and can bring up to four bags. Shuttles are smoke-free. For details and a schedule, call 724-895-8270.


Tickets on sale for Casino Theatre jazz concert

The Casino Theater will host the Jazz Warriors Big Band in concert at 3 p.m. Sunday at the theater.

The Acmetonia Elementary School Kilowatt Band will also perform. Tickets are $5 and can be reserved at casinotheater.org or Pomfrets Paint and Variety, 149 Farragut Ave., Vandergrift.


Memorial service schedule at Good Samaritan Hospice

Good Samaritan Hospice, a mission of Concordia Lutheran Ministries, will sponsor a service in memory of those who spent their final days in their care or for anyone experiencing grief at 3 p.m. April 28 at St. Luke Lutheran Church, 330 Hannahstown Road, Winfield.

The service is open to all who are dealing with grief, even if they did not have a loved one in care at the facility.
