A Christian reverend who claims to have nearly a decade of experience exorcising demons says the that the classic 1973 horror film The Exorcist is scarily accurate in its portrayals of demonic expulsions.

Reverend Bill Bean, from Baltimore, Maryland, claims he has witnessed levitations, bizarre displays of superhuman strength and has even seen people’s entire eyes change color during his seven years in the business of exorcism.

‘I’ve actually seen people levitate,’ he told the UK news outlet, the DailyStar. ‘I’ve seen their eyes change from our regular-looking eyes to either all-white or all-black – red in one case.’

A number of the disturbing paranormal experiences allegedly witnessed by Bean draw a similarity between some of The Exorcist's most famous scenes. He insists the movie is ‘real’ in its gruesome depictions.

Bean told the Star about an exorcism he conducted in San Diego in which a woman under the thrall of possession was said to developed ‘snake eyes,’ and began contorting her body like a reptile.

‘This woman’s eyes changed to a yellowish, greenish type of colour and had these reptilian-looking slits for her pupils,’ Bean said. ‘Her body was withering around like a serpent, like a snake, and contorting in ways that a human body can’t.

‘I’m happy to tell you that God worked through me to deliver her but I will never ever forget that,’ he continued.

The reported contortion draws comparison to the infamous ‘Spider Walk’ scene in the Exorcist that was removed from the movie upon it initial release but later re-added in 2000 as part of a director’s cut version of the classic.

In the scene, possessed 12-year-old girl Regan MacNeil is seen walking down the stairs upside down and backward in a back-breaking pose.

Bean said his subjects often vomit after their exorcism is complete because, ‘when you are binding a demon and casting out a demon or demons, they are going to come put either through the mouth or the head or in other ways.

He also says nobody is exempt from demonic possession. Bean said he conducted an exorcisms for a ‘brilliant young man from a wonderful family’ a few years back, which ‘just shows you it can happen to anyone – I don’t care what walk of life you come from.’

Bean, a former power-lifter turned paranormal author, says he has also witnessed dangerous displays of ‘superhuman strength’ from those supposedly under the spell of an evil spirit.

‘I've been in situations where the person was trying to physically hurt me,’ he told the outlet. ‘It wasn’t them – it was the demons inside of them – but it got physical and I had to take them down and restrain them to keep them from hurting me.’

Bean added that others have spit on him, attempted to bite him, kick him, throw things at him or even tried to stab him.

‘When these people are taken over by demonic forces, they have superhuman strength and it is only by the power of God working through me that I can combat that,’ Bean claimed.

Thankfully, Bean says that most people cannot remember what happened to them after the demon has been cast out.
