Bangladesh put Sri Lanka under pressure after posted a total of 320/7. After the good from the batsmen, Bangladesh bowlers picked up three early wickets to push back Sri Lanka. Nasir Hossain removed Kusal Perera while Mashrafe Mortaza picked up the wicket of Upul Tharanga. Kusal Mendis became Mortaza’s second victim. This is after Bangladesh saw Tamim Iqbal, Shakib Al Hasan and Mushfiqur Rahim score half centuries and lead their team to a good total. This is a must win game for Sri Lanka as they have already lost to Zimbabwe in their first game. Bangladesh had beaten Zimbabwe in their first game so a win here would push their case for the a final’s spot. Against Zimbabwe, Shakib-Al-Hasan was brilliant with bat and ball. Sri Lanka lost to Zimbabwe in their first ODI of the year and the series. This their third straight loss to Zimbabwe after losing the final two ODIs to the same team in the five-match series last year at home. The bowling hasn’t clicked and sloppy fielding has not helped either.
