Bernard K. Gebhart

Bernard K. Gebhart, 83, of Warren, IN, died Saturday, June 12, 2021, at 3:50 a.m., at Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home in Fort Wayne.

Mr. Gebhart was a 1956 graduate of Warren High School. He attended Warren United Church of Christ. His first job after high school was a chicken farmer, which he did for three years. After that, he worked as a farmer and opened Gebhart's Greenhouse, which he ran alongside his wife. He also worked for the postal service.

He was born May 26, 1938, in Warren, to Burton Andrew Gebhart and Elizabeth Palmer. He married Sharon Stuber on Aug. 3, 1969, in Warren. She survives in Warren.

Additional survivors include a daughter, Leslie (Kevin) Sanborn, of Independence, KY; and a son, Andrew “Andy” Gebhart, of Warren.

Calling will take place on Tuesday, June 15, from 2 to 8 p.m., at the Warren United Church of Christ fellowship hall, 202 E. 2nd Street, Warren.

A celebration of life service will take place on Wednesday, June 16, 2021, at 11 a.m., at the Warren United Church of Christ sanctuary, 202 E. 2nd Street, Warren. There will be one hour of calling prior to the service. Rev. Troy Drayer will officiate with Rev. Gerald Moreland assisting.

Interment will follow in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Warren. Military rites will be performed at the graveside by the VFW Post No. 2689, Huntington.
