Dimapur Night Carnival pays tribute to Hokivi

Dimapur, Dec. 12 (EMN): The second day of the fifth edition of Dimapur Night Carnival (DNC) 2017 was dedicated to the former president of Dimapur Chamber of Commerce and Industries (DCCI) late H Hokivi Chishi, who was actively involved behind the happening of DNC in 2013.

In a fitting tribute to the former DCCI president who passed away on August 4 2017, the Tuesday evening started with the song “Yeh Sham Mastani” by the duo Nikato and Prem and a candlelight tribute by the chief guest and DNC advisor, Kakheho Dennis Yepthomi, along with DCCI president Akashe Zhimomi.

Kughali Chishi, wife of late Chishi, has acknowledged the tribute dedicated in honour of her husband by the organisers. She stated that it was his (late Hokivi) dream to see DNC to be an eventful occasion for Dimapur and to make the the event a yearly affair.

DNC advisor Yepthomi has hailed late Hokivi Chishi as ‘a man of strong character with a giving heart who led a fearless life and stood by his word.’

“The work he has done for the society stand witness with this evening dedicated in his name,” attributed Yepthomi.

The first day of the DNC 2017 which commenced on December 11 witnessed an unexpected eager people thronging the Supermarket- the venue of DNC.

Altogether 250 stalls have been put up for the seven-day affair which would conclude on December 17.

DNC is being jointly organised by district administration, DCCI, Business Association of Nagaland (BAN) and East Dimapur Business Association (EDBA).

Dimapur Night Carnival was conceptualised with twin objectives ‘festivity’ and ‘opportunity’ with an objective to provide an opportunity to the youth and elderly alike to relax, enjoy as well as to interact with the people from different parts of the world.
